I thought that direct translation from Greek would be enough to avoid misunderstanding. As I see from your post, I’ve been mistaken. So, go to any search machine and ask it for the word PSYCHEDELIC. Sure, you’ll found lots of links to chemical substances making some psychedelic effects. But at the same time you’ll found lots of links to various musical styles called psychedelic. Beginning from rock styles and so on, ending Goa etc. The term psychedelic in context of music styles is widespread enough and it has nothing to do directly with drugs. Music makes even more strong effect than any chemistry and one no needs any chemistry… Read about Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin (at least – they were founders of psychedelic music) and you’ll understand that it’s not that negative definition as it seems to you.

Anyway, I think new Vacuum style deserves better attribute then that one.
Fools Like Me, Sea Of Silence ... in my opinion there is nothing "psychedelic" in those songs. It's an arrogant word and in spiritual cognitions there is no place for arrogance. These are beautiful songs and even anti - psychedelic, in my opinion.

Well, no. It was not my favorite slogan actually. For new Vacuum I would rather use slogan by Maxwell House "Satisfaction to the last drop". But I still miss powerful voice of Mattias as we used to hear at early albums...

Dear Masha, it’s just my own definition of this style. I define new Vacuum style how I personally feel this music. I stated my point of view just to share my emotions just a bit (it’s a purpose of our forum I guess). I don’t claim everyone to accept my definition. If you dislike my definition invent your own one. As for me I find my definition as the best one. Of course for me (and maybe only for me). I defined the style for myself. And just tell you what I think, not trying to impose my point of view upon others.

Well, I see our discussion about new V// style comes deeper and deeper. My suggestion is to split music and lyrics if we want to classify it. We can define music style and then define lyrics style. And after that we will look for soe compilation of those definitions. Otherwise if we try to put the style of new album to any existing frames, we just loose our time. As I do not know anything to use as a benchmark. If I new one I wopuld already buy it...:-)) But if we take a music itself I see a lot of references to compare with and so to classify. I see a lot of synth-pop base in it with strong influence of dark-wave and other gothic themes (in lyrics as well). Some notes of DM and new A-ha can be found (even in vocal in some songs).

No doubts, V-style has a lot of places of interest in its music, but during my every listening to new Vacuum I get opinion that something's not enough. Maybe Wollbek's not enough for music (because of lack of musical education), maybe Matias solo's not enough, maybe saturation of music is not enough... I don't know really... I can compare my feelings, like whene you're eating a lot of qualitative food, but still hungry. I really think they should invite more professionals in writing music, like Bard did for his projects, incl. Vacuum (I don't wanna offend Mattias or Wollbek). And I have such wishes not for making 'em more popular, but for making more qualitative music.
