I've been a Vacuum fan since 1999. My strong feeling is still the same, the guys are totally awesome and amazing:) I'm also grateful to Mattias because one day I read in his interview that he was a huge Depeche Mode devotee. I didn't know about DM at that time and decided to listen to them... So, I've got two passions since then and my love grows stronger with every single hour. But there is one question that bothers me. Is Mattias still fond of Dave and Co or has he changed his musical preferences?

Well, if looking at the change of Mattias's mannerof singing, I would suppose that now he likes rather Martin, then Dave. Or both, who knows.

P.S. I loved DM and still love their old stuff, but they become a cheap pop now...

To The God:
Well, the most pop songs were  in the first two albums of DM. I cannot say that Exciter is a pop album

Thanks, thanks! I'm new to the forum but I love all of you already!
OK, I'll follow your piece of advice, Masha. So, dear Mattias, do you still love Depeche Mode?

Well, I think you should go with that to http://vacuum-global.com/  and click "ask Mattias".
I heard that he does visit this site from time to time, but you have better chances to get an answer in a specifically designated place. :vlogo:

I think that last album of Vacuum is most devoted to Depeche Mode. Just listen to Queen for example. Don't you hear the same...hmmm way of producing? I think that Depeche Mode and Bjork were musicians who influenced more than anybody else to sound of this album.

Yes, I guess she could ask there too, but Mattias said it's the best to ask him questions on vacuum-people and to write messages without questions on vacuum-global.

So, Irishka, it would be the best that you go on http://www.vacuum-people.com. There you'll see a section Speak and in it there is a subsection Ask Mattias.

I asked Mattias a couple of questions there and got the answers ! Good  luck !   :colpac:

Yes, Exciter is mostly pop album (even if I love several songs very much).
I really miss the sound of 'Violator' and 'Ultra'

No. I don't. But in some songs DM's synth style feels very well

The God, Ultra is my favorite album of DM

To my mind Exciter is sound more heavy and minimalistic  than Ultra
