Вообще-то лучше всего поступают команды вроде Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode - они именно делают сингл в варианте - основная песня+ песня, не входящая ни в один альбом, раритет. А потом берут и выпускают сборник таких раритетов :)
Поэтому голосую за третий вариант.

In general, the best is done by such bands as Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode: they do their singles in the version "main song + non-albumed song, rare song". And then they release the compilation of such rare songs!
That's why I will vote for the third option.

I agree! While I love remixes (if they are well done, and to be honest, most are not...) I do like weird, experimental B sides. Like Pet Shop Boys! I just love Alternative (the B sides album).
