Almost. We have already discussed that some time ago (mostly with Terminator, who probably returned to his future; come back, Termy, we miss you). Man has created gods to explain that gods have created Man...
In this particular case I realy do not want to guess and discuss Mattias' religious situation. It is his personal, private, internal. But coming from lyrics and mood of YWLILUTT I can say that my personal feelings match it.

I think that religion (animism) was a sort of "spontaneous" feeling... that came from the daily experience of men...
The mood of YWLILUTT started yet on "Ripples On The Surface"... I like Vacuum's "evolution" because it's a continuum... they are growing.. (leading up to... what? )

I don't see the words "I'd down with God" to mean that he has totally lost his faith... even very religious people have periods when they're angry with God or feel detached from religion. It doesn't mean that those people will never recover their full faith again... "I'm down with God" in my opinion testifies more for a moment of personal frustration than for a irremediable loss of faith.
I daresay that Plutonium Cathedral and Seance talked about religion, yes, but YWLILUTT is maybe more religious in spirit, because it's more about personal problems.

So basically it can be rephrased as
"I check strenghth in my religion today I check right in how I'm leading my way"
rather than
