About Vacuum performance at Kiev's fest "Chaika 5" in the 17th of May, 2003.

Vacuum performed on the well-decorated stage of the International youth festival "Chaika-5" in Kiev in the mild spring evening like a DREAM from a distant star… Vacuum style, music, image of the artists differed a lot from those of the previous pop performancers. DJ announced: "Shall we make a brotherhood with the Swedes?…Welcome the guests from the distant Scandinavia! Welcome Vacuum!" A storm of applause followed and a man who was going to play the synthezator appeared on the left side of the stage. He was talking something with a voice like a robot, the lights and the smoke made an impression of a magic dream… Everybody was waiting for the singer… And when Mattias with his guitarist came to the stage the crowd screamed like crazy!
Mattias greeted the audience, asked : "How are You feeling?" And having looked at people bellow said: "You are all beautiful! So colorful clothes. And I wear all in black today!" And he sang "It's easier…", "Power" and "Culture Of Night". Then he asked the crowd: "Do You want to hear something new? Yeah?" And he sang "Fools Like Me" explaining that this song was about his ex-girlfriend. Mattias was hot so he took off the black coat and said: "You know I feel like at home! Yesterday we had a great concert in Odessa." Then the other songs were performed ("My Melting Mood", "Icaros", "Anas Song"). Mattias asked people again: "Would You like to hear something completely new? From a new album? Yeah?" And he sang "Starting". Mattias was pleasantly surprised that Vacuum fans were singing with him, they knew the words, so he said: "You seem to know this song! Yeah, Internet is a great thing!" During the concert Mattias once said: "I feel love over there!", pointing by his finger to the group of Vacuum fans who was screaming and applauding really very loud. He also turned the audience on by screaming like this: "Are You with me, Kiev? Yeah? I see You are!" Once he also said: "Hey, I want to come down to You." But he held on singing from the stage.
To the end of the concert he came up to the guitarist, said something to him and then asked the crowd what song we'd like to listen to now. Of cause everybody was screaming "I Breathe"! So Mattias sang it, coming down to people. Oh, fans were so happy, they made photos of him, singing. It was so cool to see Mattias so close: wearing black trousers and shirt, with a short haircut and smiling, he sang "I Breathe"! Then he came to the stage, said : "Thank You! Goodbye, Kiev!" and run away in the darkness of the night…
This concert was like a DREAM, and it's a pity we have to wake up!
Wish everybody to get an opportunity to go to the concert of Vacuum! Wish Vacuum to come to Ukraine with a BIG concerts many times in the nearest future!!!
