Vacuum Live At Stockholm Gay Pride (2002)

(by Lisa Thornlei)

It was a very warm and sunny day, when Vacuum performed on The Stockholm Pride festival.

I would say, there was about 1500 people or more, in front of the stage, and I was standing in the middle all front, when a tall man with long blond hair (I think he was from the radio) came in and presented Vacuum. Mattias and Marina came on to the stage and Mattias asked: "Are
you with me"? Not much happened and he asked again and then People shouted.

They started to play "what kind of fool" and Mattias sang live. I believe most of the music was playback. But guess a bit, was played by Marina on the keyboard.

She wore the same long gown, as on Tv show where they played "What kind of fool" And BIG sunglasses. Mattias was wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants.(Very good to know, isn't it? :))About one minute after the song had started, Mattias had an accident with the microphone. The thing that holds the mic. Wasn't tight enough, so it went down quite a bit, and he's voice disappeared a few seconds. But he just smiled, said: "Nice" and kept performing. The next song was "Starting where the story ended", which was done a little bit different in the vocals, because Mattias sang it live. It sounded great. He has a good strong voice live. Then came " I Breathe" and most of the crowd started to sing along. Mattias said that this would be their last song, and that he thought that it was really bad, cause he could see people going all crazy out there. They didn't perform "Ripples on the surface" as I
thought they would. But also maybe it would have been a kind of "to quiet" song to do, on this party festival.

All thru the show, Mattias came with funny comments about the audience and Marina seemed very happy, smiling and even jumping around once. It was a good short performance.
